Waze proves to me how the cutting edge of yesterday is the commodity of tomorrow. They took the utility of GPS navigation, covered it in Mardi Gras and sent it into the world for free.

After receiving a foot of snow yesterday, my commute this morning was slow. Waze suggested I take an exit earlier than normal. As I followed those instructions, I notice red brake lights on the Interstate I was leaving that extended for at least a mile. I thank those Wazers stuck in traffic for allowing me to avoid the worst.

Robert Scoble recently posted about the service noting that its popularity with drivers is growing while competitors aren’t doing so well.

I find myself wanting to help make their service better.  User engagement: check. I’ve decided to help update their map in areas I am familiar.

Waze is fun and useful to me. I suggest trying it.
